This product is made specifically for IdaSailor Marine, specifically for use in sailboat rudders, by a US plastics manufacturer in large sheet stock via the compression molding process. A virtually maintenance free material, HDPE provides you with a rudder that will not split or de-laminate and inherently resists fouling. Each blade blank is carved into a true NACA foil shape using our proprietary process with both modern CNC equipment and manual craftsmanship yielding ideal sailboat rudder foils. Stainless steel parts like rudderheads and pintle brackets are cut by CNC laser for true, clean edges, then TIG welded and assembled in-house before being electropolished to rigid semiconductor standards to resist saltwater corrosion for a lifetime of dependable steering.
